An unread, tight, clean, sound copy in light brown wraps with very minor overall shelf wear with some very light creasing on the front cover at the extreme top right corner plus there is "AD" in black ink on the back cover. A novel about three siblings -- two sisters, one reckless and the other eccentric and their little brother. The reckless sister becomes pregnant and, deciding that the father would be a bad father, runs away to raiser her son, Moses, on her own. Six years later, after she is murdered, her family gathers for her funeral and her will. The will includes a wife for the younger brother and a son for the remaining sister. The young man bridles ad marrying a woman on demand and his sister falls in love with a stranger who enders their lives at about the same time. At first this new man seems to be well-adjusted and perfect for the family, but when his true character is revealed, the brother finds himself trying to protect his surviving sister.
